Everybody wants their bike to be great both in respect to look and riding condition. Almost all pro-bikers take the extra initiative to keep their bike in great condition. However, in case of regular users, a lot of them hardly find some time to take care of their bikes. They often think that it is a very hazardous task and would require a lot of time to do it.

However in reality, if you have the right tools and cleaners, it would not take more than an hour to get your bike to its original look. I am not talking about the major restoration process. These are some simple daily tasks that would help you maintain a great and healthy look in your bike. Along with that, it would also take away a lot of pressure and tasks during heavy restoration and cleaning.

Let’s take a look at this simple occurrence – nothing is more dangerous for your motorcycle than rusts. Regular cleaning will keep rust away and will give you the optimum performance at any given point. But, if you do not take proper care, you might need to replace those rusted parts which would cost you a lot of money – unnecessary investment. And at the same time, for a long time you would not get good performance from the bike due to those rusted parts.

So how do you keep your bike clean?

The first and foremost thing is to wash your motorcycle properly. In this step it is important that you clean every part of the motorcycle and make sure that no dirt, grime or grease is left in the body. You can sue some good quality motorcycle cleaner and some scrubbing brush to take care of this part. Brushes with nylon bristles are best as they do not harm the colors or graphics of the bike. If you cannot arrange nylon brushes with full plastic handle, make sure that the metal part of the brush you are using is covered with masking tape. This is important to save the bike from scratches.

Now find out if there in any rusted part in your motorcycle. If you see rust, you must act immediately. There are different ways to do this. You can either use sand paper or other scrubbers to remove rust from metal parts or you may use organic rust cleaners to remove rust from metal. In case, you are using sand papers, take extra care to make sure you do not scrub out paint from the body.

After removing rusts, do not forget to paint or lubricate that section irrespective of amount of rusts it has gathered. We often tend to ignore rust in the primary stage – but it may cost us havoc in the near future. If you have a problem with scrubbing, you can use organic rust cleaners to fight against rust. You will easily find a lot of rust products in the market that do not require any scrubbing. These cleaners are great to reach the furthest part of the engine.

After cleaning the motorcycle, dry it properly. Do not leave your motorcycle under direct sunlight to dry. When your motorcycle is dry, wax it properly to get that showroom shine back. You can easily find some motorcycle wax in local shop or you may even buy them online. However, do not forget to polish the bike properly before waxing. Use some buffing cloth and polish solution to take care of this part.

After applying two coats of wax, you should get the showroom look back.

Motorcycle / USA – Novelty flags

•September 26, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Our novelty flags are the fun flags and those which just don’t fit into any of our other categories! These flags are made with heavy-duty grommets for pole flying or wall hanging.

Safety helmets are a vital force in keeping the modern day working world in step with safety and health concerns for employees, contractors, and day laborers. The use of safety helmets comes in many fashions throughout the construction, manufacturing, building, and overall business world. In fact, the use of safety helmets can only help a business’ bottom line in the long run too. A brief example of how companies’ profit margins are improved through the mandatory use of safety helmets stems from the fact most companies require some form of insurance to operate. This insurance not only protects the potential clients and customers at a job site or in a factory, but also, regular employees are covered by this injury and liability insurance as well.

For an insurance company to offer a large, or even a small business for this matter, company insurance protection, certain premiums must be paid the company wishing to be insured. Once an insurance company notifies the business of their current insurance premium rates, both sides must gather more information. On the insurer’s behalf, inspectors will come to a place of business and note all the safety items businesses utilize to protect their employees. This includes the use of safety procedures, safe workers, safety equipment, and especially, safety helmets. Adhering to the risk assessors’ suggestions on behalf of the insurance company can give companies significant decreases in the amount of premiums paid to insurance companies to have their workers covered in the event of an accident or emergency.

Safety helmets also boost worker productivity, efficiency, support, and moral. Leading a safety focused company leads many workers to feel safer and happier at their job. Safety helmets are one vital part of protecting workers’ health as well as maintain their overall employment peace of mind. When workers feel as if they are in an unsafe or hazardous environment, such as one without using the protection of safety helmets, the workers efficiency, moral, and overall usefulness as workers declines rapidly. Many workers will feel as if the company does not value their overall presence or are too cheap to purchase safety helmets in the best interest of their workers. In most instances, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the state government, local ordinances, or labor law agreements with either the federal government or labor unions mandate the use of safety helmets.

The fines and work stoppages from violating these laws and mandates could eventually sink a business. These are just a few of the reasons safety helmets greatly enhance a company’s bottom line. Granted, not all companies require the use of safety helmets, however, those that do should already be aware of this condition and fully implement the use of safety helmets amongst their workers. The ethical standpoint is to provide all workers, guests, clients, and customers with these helmets as well at any time they visit a jobsite, workshop, or factory. Protecting the safety of the individual workers with safety helmets will protect the prosperity of a company in the long run.

ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE PLASMA/LCD TV CLEANING KIT

•September 26, 2008 • Leave a Comment

With the transformation of todays technology into high resolution, Plasma and LCD screens comes a clearer more brilliant picture that has never been experienced before. Unfortunately these items through day to day use to tend to act as a magnet attracting dust and fingerprints. As a result a result you get diminished picture clarity. Using a common cleaner is not a choice. Using harsh alcohol or ammonia based cleaners can streak and/or scratch your screen and can eventually strip away your screens protective coding. The Digicom screen cleaning liquid has been specially formulated to resist drippage therefore preventing from rolling down into the delicate corners and causing damage to your TV/LCD. The Digicom cleaning liquid contains no alcohol, ammonia or any other harsh detergents. It is has been also been designed to reduce static electricity that attracts dust.
Customer Review: Not worth it…
I tried this on my Sony 46″ and it did not do it’s thing. It left the screen with streaks. I also tried it on my PC CRT monitor and it left streaks as well. I went out and bought Monster’s ScreenClean and it was perfect. Like they say, you get what you paid for.
Customer Review: Works great with no streaks!
I found this at Big Lots for $4.00 Item # DC-129P It works great any produces no streaks when applied with the included lint free shammy. I recommend this over other harsh cleansers. I use it on both my plasma and smaller lcd displays. Can’t think of a reason not to use this is you have small kids. I also noticed less dust collecting on the screen of our 34″ Samsung Tube Type television. Try it!

Many people look at Radio Control Cars as just toys and sometimes they are near the truth.
The main reason for that is that Radio Controlled Toys have in the past couple of years got

a LOT better in quality and even in performance.

This is not to say that Hobby grade Model “RC” ( radio control) Cars have lagged behind as they are certainly much more like driving a real car or truck than they were even 2 years ago.

There is not such a fine line any more between Radio Control Toys and Hobby Grade cars.
Both are available as either 4 wheel drive or all terrain vehicles or as racetrack style cars for use on flatter surfaces or even paving stones perhaps even indoors.

The main differences now are on the engines and for toys these are usually electric and
are powered mainly by AA or rechargeable batteries.

One thing to watch for is the difference between

Radio Control and Remote control remote control is usually a wire going from the car to the controlling handset whereas a Radio Control Car is not connected physically but commands are given by a wireless connection from free wireless transmitter handset to a receiver inside the car or truck.

Toy Cars are sometimes looked down on by some people in the Hobby communities but if people derive pleasure from toy grade cars then I am in favour of that.

Recently Toy cars come with much more durable bodies as makers know that some users like to stage collisions ! (But like their cars to work afterwards)

Hobby Grade Radio Control cars are pretty much always Radio Controlled.
Older models may be remote control.

These are sometimes very collectible.

One of the big differences is that Hobby Grade Cars are repairable in case of damage while many toy grade cars will just have to be patched us as best as the owner can manage. Spares are very rarely available for Toy Grade cars.

This is because Hobby grade cars now are mainly capable of being upgraded and spare parts are generally easily available.

The reason for this is that hobby grade cars often need tuning or the owners want to add
flashy new exhaust pipes, steering units or other great addons .

This is one of the ways that Hobby Car makers use to make extra income.
They supply a demand but sometimes supplies coming from the Far East take a while to arrive.

Electric cars are some of the cheapest and have minimal servicing needs like minor cleaning and replacing worn parts.

They are probably the best starter cars for a novice driver and are generally quite durable.
Electric cars are now supplied mainly with “brushless” engines and some earlier ones can be upgraded.

Nitro Cars have real small combustion engines – a miniaturized version of car engines although they run on special fuel based on Nitromethane,Methanol and oil – supplied usually by hobby stores.
These engines are known as Glow Plug engines and the cars powered by them can reach quite high speeds.

The engines can be replace often with larger capacity ones that supplied by the maker . These do however need a bit more maintenance as the fuel does spray around a little and they also need tuning.

It is much easier for the novice to buy a pre-tuned car in this category
These are known as Ready To Run cars.

Generally the Nitro cars are about 20 percent bigger than Electric Cars due to the
glow plug engines and they are much faster. (There are actually many different cars available and the crossover between electric and Nitro Cars in output is sometimes similar).

The next grade up is Hobby grade cars with real engines – these are known as “Gassers” or “Fuelies” and have much bigger engines similar in size to brush cutter engines and with a corresponding increase in power.
These are for the real enthusiast and cost much more than Nitro or Electric models.

Cars for Racing have very specific requirements for engine size and other needs.
You will always receive a transmitter handset with your radio control car and a manual.
Keep the manual safe – you WILL need it.

Second user cars are popular as many users upgrade.
Always make sure you get the manual and an assurance that the car will not be “DOA” (dead on arrival!).

If the car is not functioning properly then get your money back.
It is a good idea if buying at auction to always use Paypal which covers you for up to $500 in this case or in the case of nondelivery.

GE Incandescent Motorcycle Night Light

GE Incandescent Motorcycle Night Light. Plug-In with On/Off switch. Cool-burning 4 watt bulb. Fully licensed product *

So you finally have that new mustang that you have always wanted. Now you should know about the parts that you can add to it. Why you need them? What are you going to do to get them? How much are they going to be?

There are a ton of places that you can get these auto parts if you are able to look for them. If you are just looking for basic types, then you will want to first check with your local store. This is the best place to look in the first place. You can also look for them for your new mustang on the Internet, but this is a better route for those looking for high performance varieties as well as those that may be racing their mustang for whatever reason.

You may need auto parts for many reasons but the most common reason is from an auto accident. This is a real reason for a change of them and you may notice that these are more expensive in the beginning. The other real reason that you may need them is failing while they are in use. You may not know that it is even bad until it just stops working completely.

You may be surprised by the costs that may be associated with your Mustang’s parts. Because it’s a new vehicle, you will have to pay more for them and will have to be careful with them. This is a good way to make your bills higher if you are not careful and break them that you are trying to use. You can hire a professional so that you are not dealing with this risk and that will help you with your money issues too.

There are a lot of reasons that you should be careful with your purchase of new ones, but costs are the main one and you need to think about what you are doing with the ones you buy. You are the one that is taking care of your car as well as getting the auto parts just right with it. If you are not doing this in a responsible way, you will end up paying more for them and also for repairs as well. Take some time and find the one that is right for what you are doing.

Harley Davidson Performance

A Harley Davidson is not exactly a bike known for its power, at least off the show room floor. For years riders bought a Harley Davidson for the style, the comfort and the heritage that comes with owning a piece of American Iron from a company with such a storied history as Harley Davidson.

That said, most Harley Davidson owners find themselves aching for more power almost from the minute they pick up their new Harley Davidson. The first place they turn is usually to a new set of pipes, not only for the power but for that trademark Harley Davidson exhaust note. Nothing sounds better than a Harley purring away from a stoplight.

I am a self admitted pipe junkie and I have tried a number of different exhaust pipes on my 2007 FXSTB Nightrain. My bike is a little hotter than most with a 107 ci engine, cams and ported heads but nonetheless I still find myself craving more power. I recently replaced my 2 into 2 exhaust system from a very reputable pipe company and replaced it with a D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1 Harley pipe. I had read about the strong power gains that can be had with a 2 into 1 pipe and all I can say is WOW!

The fit and finish of the D&D pipe is awesome and they installed quickly and easily. I was also very pleased when I fired it up for the first time to hear the exhaust note. It was quieter than than 2 into 2 pipes I had on there before, which might put a frown on some Harley owners faces but while it was quieter, it sounded a LOT better. The D&D Fat Cat produces a nice deep rumble with a lot of bass to it and when you crack the go-stick it turns into a nice deep roar. I don’t know that I have ever heard a set of Harley pipes that sounded better.

The performance difference is noticeable. I will admit I have not dyno’d the new pipes but the “butt dyno” tells me these pipes definitely make more bottom end and mid range power, which is exactly what a 2 into 1 pipe should do. The bike is noticeably more torquey and gets away from a stop light much easier. I also can feel the difference when I roll onto the throttle, the bike leaps forward with no hint of lag or hesitation.

I realize it’s hardly scientific but being a power junkie my entire life, I can safely tell when something works and when it doesn’t. These D&D Fat Cat pipes will put a smile on your face, especially if you have a modified Harley Davidson.

Check out a set of your own D&D Fat Cat Pipes or maybe a Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggered pipe is more to your liking. We can help you find the perfect pipe for your Harley Davidson today.

Panasonic WVQ117

Panasonic WVQ117 SUSPENDED CEILLING MOUNT FOR CS954 & 574 DOME CAMERA

When I moved offices in 2002, the Brother range of printers was just “coming of age” in the UK as a real alternative to HP and Epson in the lower to mid range price bracket, offering reasonably priced printers and good consumable economy.

As we are an office supplies dealer and I like to practice what I preach, I bought a couple of the laser printers for our new office. An HL-1070 and an HL-1050. To cut a long story short, neither let me down in the entire time I was using them, about 3 years in all, after which time I decided to “upgrade” to a duplex printer (the HL-5150D) to gain an advantage in faster printing, but also in an attempt to save money by printing on both sides of the paper. Again a decision I haven’t regretted for one moment. I do just wish they’d make the printer with a transparent cover so I could see how it manages to print both sides, without being an enormous great bulky piece of kit. Maybe I’ll submit a feature request…..

So fast forward a couple of years and we come to Brother’s latest release the “world first” MFC-6490CW.

A very good friend of mine (30 years plus since we became friends) is just setting up a new business and he asked me for my recommendation for a multifunction machine at really good value. He has limited office space and needed something to cover all his needs, but in one box. One particular feature he had to have was the capability to print A3, as he likes to produce his own A3 colour flyers, as well as all the regular things like faxing and copying. As a new business, he couldn’t run to the expense of a laser machine, so, even if ther had been a suitable A3 laser, his budget wouldn’t stretch that far.

He’s a computer novice, but managed installation and setup with no problem at all and was faxing and printing within an hour of the box being delivered to his office. He is totally thrilled with the MFC-6490 and I guess it’s his enthusiasm for this new printer that prompted me to put pen to paper as it were, to spread the word a little. Naturally if anyone decides to buy one, I’ll be more than happy to supply, though in general I don’t tend to promote machines unless I have a particularly strong recommendation or a good history. The margins are very very low and with untried products, returns tend to outweigh profits!.

Since Brother are claiming a world first with the printer being able to print not only A4 but A3, I think it’s probably a good idea to list what I consider are the most important benefits of the new model.

Faxing – it has a 50 sheet auto document feed for those long boring reports you may have to fax. The modem speed is 33.6K, which is ok and a good memory – up to 400 sheets in case you run out of paper and are away for a week!

Copying – up to 23 copies per minute mono and 20 pages per minute colour, 25-400% reduction and enlargement and 1200 x 1200 dpi output

Printing – up to 38 pages per minute mono (that’s faster than a lot of more expensive laser printers) and up to 28 pages per minute colour. Still very quick! Print resolution is 1200 x 6000 dpi.

Scanning – flatbed or ADF which is handy and at resolutions up to 9600 dpi. Scan to email – which is a handy feature

Photos – there are 6 different smartmedia slots, so getting pictures straight from your camera using pictbridge should be a breeze. The MFC-6490CW can accept compact flash, memory stick, memory stick pro, secure digital & Xd picture M&H card as well as removavble disk drive.

Drivers – works with Windows 2000, XP, Vista Mac OSX 10.2.4 or greater

So you get all that in a printer weighing 15.6Kg and measuring 540 x 488 x 323mm, plus it comes with a 12 month on site Brother warranty upon registration. And if you are quick, the price is only £212.76 plus VAT and £5.95 delivery.

As a Brother “Insynergie” dealer, we are fortunate enough to have stock available for immediate despatch. That means if you order today, we can deliver tomorrow. (UK mainland only.)

Learning to drive a motorcycle is something that millions of people have desired to do. Many of these people have followed through with their desire and now enjoy the freedom of hitting the road on a bike. Motorcycle road tests are notoriously difficult and in this article I want to explain how to pass your road test without worry.

There are two major keys to being able to pass your motorcycle road test. The first one of these is being as prepared as possible. This may seem obvious, but many people underestimate the importance of being fully prepared. Some even think they can just wing it and come out on top. This could not be further from true.

The second key is to not be nervous. Nervousness goes hand in hand with not being prepared. If someone does not know what they are doing, they are not going to feel confident in their ability to pass the road test. With motorcycle road tests, it is vital that you are confident and thus not nervous.

Now I want to tell you how to overcome the nervousness and be fully prepared and ready for your motorcycle road test.

An online motorcycle drivers education program is the way to go in my opinion. You can get interactive videos and materials that are not provided with traditional drivers education courses. Plus, you can get into the materials at your own pace! This is key and you will be able to absorb and learn the information very easily.

In closing, making sure you are prepared for motorcycle road tests comes down to a couple of simple things. Be prepared, not nervous, and also get some great additional learning resources from an online drivers education program.

50% of people fail their drivers test. Want to Learn to Drive Online and get a heads up on the test?

iPhone 3G

With the release of the first iPhone, Apple’s hype with the iPod was now extended with a mobile suit and ready for media interchange. For lots of people it was a certain purchase, for others the high price, limited 3G capabilities, and the small number of countries where the iPhone was launched, kept them sidelined.

With the 3G upgraded iPhone though, Apple keeps playing with the big boys. With the press release, our dear Steve launched it with a price of $200…..quite stunning. Hardware

Everybody nowadays knows how an iPhone looks. The slim and futuristic design is a joy to look at. It has a high quality, high resolution 480 x 320 3.5-inch display. Unfortunately it’s still a magnet for smudges and fingerprints. If you buy a white iPhone though, the fingerprints won’t show that easily.

The iPhone comes in a standard 8GB black edition. But if you want one with 16GB, you can choose between a black one, or a white one…just a matter of taste.

People in the US will be a little dissapointed, because the iPhone 3G won’t fit in your device’s dock. Apple wants you to buy it separatly. In Europe though, the adapter is already included in the purchase.

One very important aspect when buying a neat piece of hardware, is the time that you can enjoy your little toy; aka the battery.

If you call on GSM, you can chat for 10 hours straight. If you make calls over the 3G network though, you can bwabbel away for 5 hours.

If you’re not calling then you can listen to music all day long (yes, …24 hours) or check out videos for 7 hours.(So you can check out the two first movies of Lord of the Rings….*cheers*)

And with that comes a great improvement of the sound volume and quality, the first iPhone had a pretty low volumelimit,… so to improve the joy of listening to music or checking out videos without those white thingies in your ears, they put in some better speakers.

Another major improvement of the 3G compared with his precursor is his camera. It used to be about 2 megapixels, now Apple has cranked that up to 3.2 megapixels !! Software

Easily, the most significant addition to the iPhone 3G (as well as the original iPhone and iPod touch) is the App Store, which finally enables users to trick out their phone with whatever piece of software makes it through Apple’s rigorous developer screening and software testing process.

Some software is free and some is …not free . From wikipedia to a manga reader, from business-software to games….there are tons of programs out there for the iPhone.

The price of the software varies, and it can be purchased after logging in with your iTunes account; yes you have to log in with your account even if you want to download free software.

A kinda major sticking point for some is the touchscreen keyboard, and Apple hasn’t given any more of its default programs (like SMS) the increased ease of typing that comes with using the keyboard in landscape mode. This, for some, is still a drawback. Conclusion

With the iPhone 3G, Apple doesn’t bring out any new features, which you can’t find in any other smartphone. 3G, GPS, messaging, internet… these aren’t new things. But even the would-be iPhone killers being churned out weekly haven’t yet found a way to counter the iPhone’s usability and seamless integration of service and software, desktop and mobile, and media and internet.

There are always things that could be improved, features to be added, fixes that should be applied – but from first to second gen, from year one to year two, Apple has proven itself a relentless upstart in the mobile space, and is showing no signs of slowing down. All those new features give the iPhone even more appeal than ever, but the price is what really seals the deal.

For the same money, you’ll have a difficult time finding a better piece of hardware for 200$ (about 180 euro in Europe)

Diamond Plate Motorcycle Disc Lock

•September 26, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Diamond Plate Motorcycle Disc Lock. Comes with two keys. 2 lbs each. 2300PT 28.95 Item #MTDISC

The Garmin Nuvi 660 performs well in all categories. The price point on this unit is very affordable. It has the highest overall rated very good score of all the GPS units indicating an exceptional value by “Consumer Reports”. Ratings of excellent for entering destination, information for driver, portability and color display. Ratings of very good for use of controls, routing options, routing time and mount design. All with a retail price in the $ 350.00. A tested battery life of approximately 4.5 hours, weight of 6.7 ounces, screen size of 4.4 inches, Bluetooth hands free calls (Allows the user to make and receive telephone calls using the unit’s internal speaker, microphone and screen.) and spoken street names (Commonly referred to as “Text-to-Speech,” this feature allows the driver to confirm directions with street signs without looking at the screen) It can also dial phone numbers of point of interest locations. This feature requires a Bluetooth compatible phone as well.

These results are the most current ratings from “Consumer Reports” magazine of the GPS units that are considered portable in auto GPS navigation systems. You can remove them from one vehicle and use them in another vehicle. The most recent use that I have heard of is by delivery people, which makes a great deal of sense. I have also had some very positive comments from two different older ladies about ease of use when traveling from rural areas about two hours outside a large city via much more rural roads and back without getting lost at all. This eased their minds about traveling these roads alone and getting home safely.
